This wiki is a critical part of our process to establish a formal Special Interest Group for Independent School Educators via ISTE, the International Society for Technology in Education.

Approximately 80 people attended the first Independent Schools Educators "Birds of a Feather" event at NECC in San Antonio on July 1, 2008, a superb turnout that helped validate the deep desire for an organized presence for Independent Schools folk.

Susan Booth of NAIS submitted an application for official ISTE status as the Independent School Educators SIG. Jill Brown and Howard Levin consulted together on this after viewing notes from the July 1st meeting. This will likely come before the ISTE Board for approval in September.

At this point we are simply collecting Wiki members as well as ideas for future activities, both at NECC '09 in Washington, DC as well as virtual activities. Our goal is to enroll a minimum of 200 Wiki members in the next month so please distribute invitations to any prospective educators. So please join this wiki!
