Collaborative Leadership for Educators

Hello ISED Colleagues,

Please see the following workshop description. I know we are all very busy
as school begins, but this is really going to be a great event that you
won't want to miss. For those of you not in the DC area, we will be
offering these workshops in other parts of the country over the course of
this school year!

1-Day Workshop for Educators on the Amistad ship!

Global Youth Leadership Institute (GYLI) is offering a global leadership
workshop for educators in Washington, D.C. on September 22. Participants
will sail the Freedom Schooner Amistad out of the new National Harbor Marina
as they explore lessons of collaborative leadership and social
responsibility in an effort to become more effective teachers of leadership
in their schools and communities. This workshop will also focus on the
themes of diversity and global education. GYLI is a non-profit organization
that runs many successful leadership programs for high school students and
teachers. GYLI has developed this workshop in partnership with the Amistad,
which has spent the past year on a voyage around the Atlantic Ocean, sharing
the history of the Atlantic slave trade. Any educator K-12 will find
practical activities, connections and inspiration for their work during this
unique 1-day event.

$400 per participant includes all workshop costs and lunch

$350 early-bird discount if you register before August 15!
