Re: Apple MacBooks and Cisco wireless

I can only speak with Windows. The wireless doesn't start until after you c=
omplete the login and the drivers activate the wireless. This cause GP to m=
iss and the only way to have access is either mapping drives or re-logging =
in.

We have a Xirrus wireless network.

We also are on XP, I have heard Win7 handles this better.

We haven't had any problems with our Macbooks (30 new ones this year, as we=
ll as the 20 from last year) on our Cisco wireless network. =20

What are they authenticating to at login ? Have you tried having the lapto=
ps start up in a local account? Are there any problem with it starting up =
and connecting to the wireless when you do that? If not, then it sounds mo=
re like something relating to the way Cisco is talking to the network than =
a wireless problem. =20

I would look toward software updates on the APs as a possible source???

Greetings,

We have 60 new Apple MacBook laptops and are connecting to our Cisco wirele=
ss network. We would like to have them at start-up/boot to the log-on scree=
n. After that have our users log-on to their network account. About 90% of=
the time it works okay, but is slow. 10% of the time it requires a re-star=
t after 5 minutes. We have no problems if the laptops are in a 'wired lab' =
to be able to connect and users log-on.

Thanks for your suggestions,
