The first step of sharing is to share, so in light of that we reposting
our query with the numbers for the Odyssey School included (in bold).

*** UPDATED TO INCLUDE ESTIMATES OF OUR NUMBERS ***

We are currently reviewing budgets associated with the personnel costs of
administering information technology programs within our school. This is
being performed as part of a larger budget exercise to minimize costs and
use funding wisely within our IT program.

It would be very helpful for us to have some reference points as a basis
of comparison to insure we aren=92t putting our program at risk by
establishing budgets which are too low or too high. These will also help
us communicate and defend personnel and budget requirements when working
with our administrative team and Board of Directors.

We are not interested in specific salaries or exact numbers but only
estimates that will help us develop a range of numbers to serve as
reference points. Here=92s what we are looking for:

Size of the organization (number of students, faculty, administrators, an=
d
staff combined).

237 members of the organization (students: 166; faculty: 60;
administrators: 6; staff: 5)

Number of individuals (or full time equivalents) involved in providing
System Administration, Network Administration, and Help Desk functions.

A little over 1 full time equivalent (2 teachers working one third of
their time each and 1 contractor who is with us about 2 days a week
throughout the school year, 2 - 3 days per week during the summer
depending on need, and on call at all other times to provide off-site and
emergency support).

Estimate of the combined personnel funding requirement associated with
staffing System Administration, Network Administration, and Help Desk
functions.

$6K (paid hourly) to support teachers providing IT support and
approximately $78,000 for contractor support.

Estimate of the annual training budget to support System Administration,
Network Administration, and Help Desk functions.

No budget line item for training. Funding provided based on availability.

Many thanks!!!
