Re: Confidentiality

Interesting question.

We do not have our IT team sign anything other than our Acceptable Use Policy. I have to ask how this role is different from others, such as the Executive Assistant to the Head of School. Is he/she asked to sign a confidentially clause that is different
from everyone else? Are other executive assistants asked? Is the Payroll Administrator asked? They see far more confidential information on any given day.

We only review staff email when requested by Director of HR or Head of School (or designate). We also only review student mail if requested by Head of Upper School, Head of Middle School, or Head of Junior School - typcially this involves electronic
bullying.

I feel our existing policies address these concerns however if you want to add an extra layer of protection I would suggest that you need to do so for all the roles in the organization.
