Re: free/cheap video hosting

My history teacher posts all his videos on the class Ning. The students
need to log in to access them. I am not sure on limits though. I know
Nings now charge, but it is really inexpensive.

Subject: free/cheap video hosting

Hi all,

Need some emergency advice for a well-intended project that may be going
awry.

Here's the deal: We have around 75 4-6 minute .mov and .wmv files that
were created by our 8th graders for a history project. My original plan
was to create a conference in FirstClass or to upload them to Blackboard
so that the videos would be both secure and viewable by all the students
in the 8th grade.=20

Neither of these options is proving to be particularly viable for what
now
seem to be fairly obvious reasons (file size, upload time, limits on
available space on servers, complication on home computers when students
download the files and so on).

So, can anyone recommend a free (or cheap) site that will allow me to
upload all these videos and password protect them? They will only need
to
be up for about 2 weeks although I can see an ongoing need for something
like this in the future.=20

The files are rolling in today, so I need something that I can start
uploading to . . . well . . . today. *glup*
