Lausanne Laptop Institute Update

Just wanted to give you a quick update on the Lausanne Laptop Institute:

www.laptopinstitute.com : July 19-21, 2009, Memphis, TN

1. Sessions have been chosen from many submissions, please view our website for a description of the sessions that will be offered.

2. Please register as soon as possible and make hotel arrangements - Flagship hotel: Double Tree - Downtown Memphis! Yes, that's right... you will be staying downtown and walking distance from the best bar-b-q and blues entertainment in the world!
Please make your reservations early as we do fill up the hotel each year.

3. We have three pre-conference workshops that you may want to consider when registering:
New: Three Optional Pre-Conference Workshops -
"One-to-One 101"
This in-depth, pre-conference, 4-hour workshop, is intended for teachers (maximum of 25) who are new to teaching in a one-to-one classroom. Lead by a team of seasoned one-to-one teachers from a variety of grade levels and disciplines, this workshop will
give you the framework you need to begin asking the right questions during the Laptop Institute. Attendees will be given practical advice, instruction, and techniques in a hands-on approach.

"Tech Integrator Training from the Trenches"
This entertaining and informative full-day workshop will train new or experienced Technology Integrators about new tools and new ways to use them. You will cover creative ways to use basic tools, Web 2.0 tools and applications of these tools across all
major curricular areas.

"One-to-One Planning Boot Camp"
This high energy, intense and strangely fun session will cover all of the major areas of critical planning for a successful one-to-one program in one day. You will come away with plans, time lines, policies, work flow designs, lesson ideas and
communication strategies. This is not for the faint of heart. Plenty of carbs should be consumed the day before this session!

4. Optional tours will be available Monday afternoon (National Civil Rights Museum, Graceland, Red Birds Baseball game, Tunica Casino trip!)

5. 2009 School Spotlight: Nashwaaksis Middle School, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. See information about this exemplary program on our website.

6. CEU credits are available this year as well - choose this option at registration.
