Background
NCAIS INNOVATE is taking a huge leap forward in 2010 as we celebrate our
5th anniversary of providing a time for independent school educators to
gather, discuss, learn, and share their experiences teaching and
learning in a digital age.
First and foremost the conference has undergone a name change. The NCAIS
TECH moniker of years past is now replaced with NCAIS INNOVATE. We
believe the new name better reflects that which we are all attempting to
achieve in our schools - innovation in education.
Second, and just as important, is a new conference format. For the first
time we are experimenting with the addition of a half-days worth of
pre-conference dialogue, conversations and longer hands-on sessions
capped by a wonderful conference dinner with experimental IGNITE
Education presentations. We expect this new half-day to add to the
already wonderful full-day experience of prior years.
Lastly, we have moved away from the NCAISTECH wiki page and developed a
community blog initiative called "Igniting Innovation; Sparking
Conversation about Learning in the Digital Age" which will feature
posts, or preferably conversation starters, by members of NCAIS' C.O.T.
We hope that this will be a place for interested educators to join in
the robust conversation surrounding today's teaching and learning in the
digital age.
Whether you are interested in attending or sharing your passion as a
presenter we hope that you will consider joining us March 11th and 12th,
2010 at Cary Academy as we roll out NCAIS INNOVATE 2010.
