Re: faculty and texting

We have a parental permission approach. Parents give permission for
staff & student to communicate electronically.

We follow a strategy (I believe I said policy) where I encourage parents
to discuss the issues with each other. We have begun a series of forums
to explain the school's sense of propriety and "explore" an emerging
etiquette for social networks with parents and students. Needless to
say, it is a work in progress.
