Re: Facebook question

Our Director of Information Technology, Ben Liu, would like to know how
schools who do not block Facebook prevent hacking and Facebook viruses.
How do you keep your network secure?

Thanks,
Linda Swarlis

Subject: Re: Facebook question

As Communications/Mktg Dir, I am on Facebook all day. Our young alums
communicate by Facebook, not e-mail. I recently was completing a story
in our alum magazine and had repeatedly emailed an alum at their college
e-mail address with no response. I
Facebook-ed him and got a reply in minutes. It can be what e-mail was to
the phone call!

We have an alum FB page and an official school page which I'm in the
process of populating.=20

FYI - I wrote an article on social media and marketing the ind school to
be out in the Feb issue of Independent School magazine in the next few
weeks if you'd like to take a look there as well for ideas from across
the US and worldwide on how schools are
using FB in their advancement, alumni, admission and other depts.
