Student Information Systems Manager

Position Summary
Our small charter school advocacy non-profit is in need of a full-time
student information systems manager to work directly with D.C. charter
schools to help key staff administer, customize, implement, and provide
technical support and staff training on PowerSchool and other student
information systems.

Major Responsibilities:
o Provide technical assistance related to the implementation of student
information systems (e.g. PowerSchool), data management programs (e.g.
Crystal Reports, Excel), and assessment systems (NWEA, Scantron);
o Provide technical assistance to schools in collecting, storing, exporting,
and disaggregating state (DC-CAS) and other assessment data;
o Customize and standardize the SIS field names and reporting templates to
meet federal, state, and the Public Charter School Board reporting requirements;
o Maintain awareness of new developments in the educational data management
and assessment industries and continuously develop expertise in these fields;
o Assist other FOCUS staff members as needed.
Qualifications
o Minimum two year experience using student information systems;
o Data integration experience (exporting, importing, and manipulating);
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
o Resourceful (able to find solutions effectively and efficiently);
o Evidence of high-level organizational and analytical skills, and the
ability to manage and coordinate a number of projects and tasks simultaneously;
o Up-to-date working knowledge of computer application systems and design
principles, preferably with school administrative applications (accounting,
student records, etc.)
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software for Mac computers
including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint;
