Re: student wiki and blog posting in grade 3-5

When our parents do online registration, there is a statement that they =
have to agree with that states that they understand their student's =
picture, work, likeness, first name can be used by the school on =
websites, for marketing materials, etc. (I don't have the exact =
wording.) They are not allowed to opt out. They only have the choice =
to click I agree button.=20

We never use first names to identify students on a website. First names =
are only used for work posted without their picture.

We are wondering how you handle this at your schools, most expressly if =
you have the parents sign off on any kinds of forms , permissions, etc.
In addition, does the teacher have free reign s to what can be put on =
the wiki or has your school developed a set of guidelines for faculty in =
this regard?
