OpenOffice transition

We have used OpenOffice for 3 years too. No major issue, and as OpenOffice
has matured, the issues are fewer and fewer.

However, the math department in particular was completely unsatisfied with
the equation editor and support in OpenOffice. I don't know if v. 3.0 is
significantly better, I thought I read where it is.

Anyhow, we purchased a site license to MathType, install the OpenOffice
Math Type macro on all machines, and everyone is satisfied. In version 3.0
the support for the MathType plug in seems even better, with no off-set
occuring when forumlas are inserted in-line.

Sincerely,

Bob
