making time for professional development

Hello ISED,

I'm interested in learning some creative ways in which schools make time fo=
r professional development during the school day. We have three in-service =
days per year, one of which is used to attend our regional independent scho=
ols conference. There never seems to be enough time to refine curriculum, w=
ork on assessment, reflect on classroom issues, work on Moodle pages, curri=
culum map, plan, share, and so on. Oftentimes, summer break is too long to =
wait!

How are other schools making time within the school day and calendar?

Many thanks,
