Re: Apple.com Traffice

I had the same problem when we added five new iMacs to our computer lab. =
Our IT director told me that the updates were large ones that were =
taking up a huge chunk of our bandwidth. I didn't even realize that they =
were downloading during school hours. The default update schedule is =
set to automatic, so you will need to open your system preferences and =
click on "Software Update", not the software update under the apple in =
the upper left corner of the screen. There is a check box for automatic =
updates that you can uncheck. You can also uncheck the update schedule =
and just update manually when you are ready.

Hi Everyone,

I have noticed a significant slowdown on my network lately. I checked
my Cymphonix box and noticed that almost 50% of my traffic in the past
month is to Apple.com listed as Automatic Traffic (which is usually
updates or similar). We are 75% PC here, so I am trying to figure out
what is going on. Has anyone had a similar problem? Are there some
sort of auto updates happening on newer Macs that I need to go and turn
off? =20

Thanks,
