Re: Drupal file repository question

There's the WebFM module - http://drupal.org/project/webfm and I've had
very good experiences with Relay - http://ecosmear.com/relay/ which is a
standalone. I've installed that for several businesses and they've been
extremely happy with that.

This was very easy in Joomla via Remository, but we ran into issues with the way the entire system connected to our LDAP directory. We've read about Alfresco and KnowledgeTree. Both of them seem like great products, but we're concerned that it's overkill for what we want to do. We'd love to have an administrative assistant log into the system and upload a file into a section that only she has access to. On the front end, we would see a folder with an appropriate title and a list the available downloads.
