computer purchase for science lab room

Hi all -=20

We're in the process of renovating a science lab for Physics. Our
science teachers have found that installing a wireless network for a lab
and making laptops available on-site works well for their lab work. In
our Chemistry and Biology lab rooms, we've got an array of Gateway
laptops (a couple of years old), but this new lab gives us an
opportunity to re-think the arrangement. Netbooks, laptops and
Toughbooks are all under consideration. Computers will be moved around,
will be connected to monitoring devices during experiments, will need to
access the Web for information and should be reasonably durable. Any
thoughts about a "best product?"
