Re: Netbooks

We are piloting Intel Classmate Tablets (Nobis from Equus CS) in our Middle=
School. I've been exploring them since last fall when the company made pr=
ototypes available for evaluation. The reaction of our kids and faculty ma=
de it clear that we needed to seriously consider the machines. =20

We've had a class set since spring break, and the machines are responding q=
uite well to classroom use. If the success continues (We're planning to te=
st with multiple grades doing various activities typically assigned by teac=
hers), we'll consider them as a replacement for our current Toshiba tablets=
in the Middle School portion of our 1-1 laptop program. =20

As much as the Toshibas we've been using are great machines, we owe it to o=
ur families to consider all of our options. If anyone is interested in spe=
cifics about what we've done so far, I'm posting updates on my blog - http:=
//www.tech4teaching.org/wpblog .
