Re: Wireless access with student owned devices

Carole,

We allow access to a wlan for students to access. Labs and laptop carts are
on the same wlan. This wlan is separate from the faculty and admin wlans and
vlans.

Content filtering, caching, software update caching and bandwidth limits are
still operational. We don't do extra limitations on the hardware (mac
address limits, pre-reg for devices, etc.) Have thought about doing
radius/ldap logins at the proxy, but really just want to make it easy for
tech at this point for the students. We watch logs and students have been
great actually with responsibility.
