external microphone for iPad

Does anyone have a suggestion for a microphone to use with the iPad? Our students are going to do some recordings, but not sure what to look for.

For the iPod Touch/iPhone we looked at the Shure MPA-3C Music Phone Adapter Mics which were used by the Escondido School District. We are not sure if these are the best for the iPad.
