Re: 21st Century Computer Skills

Dear ISED-L Colleagues,

I have been reading this thread with a lot of interest. I agree that
teaching skills without context and usage won't achieve "stickiness"
of the skills - but I feel that's partly symptomatic of the fact that
we have (still) not achieved technology integration throughout our
classrooms.

In theory if teachers were using technology as a vehicle for teaching
and learning, continually, teaching skills to students would result
in quick application in a subject-specific class, a day or two later.

Instead I think too much technology is happening in discrete isolated
specific "projects" and not happening routinely.

Best regards,
Pamela
