NEH Summer Wkshp @ UMKC

Greetings,

The University of Missouri at Kansas City is offering Summer Workshops for
K-12 teachers on the Missouri-Kansas Border Wars. These National
Endowment for the Humanities funded workshops entitled Crossroads of
Conflict: Conflicting Visions of Freedom and the Missouri/Kansas Border
Wars will be offered twice-- July 13-17 and July 27-August 2, 2008.
Participants will visit a number of historic sites on both sides of the
state line and will work together with leading scholars and master
teachers to devise plans for bringing American history to life for
students.

Out of town workshop participants will be housed in the three-year-old
UMKC dorm or, if they prefer, a local hotel. They will receive a $500
stipend to offset the cost of lodging and food. Travel subsidies of up to
