Re: Trend Antivirus

Yes, we had this same problem at the beginning of the school year. It
appears to be a bug in OfficeScan 8. We resolved it by unchecking "Show
the alert icon on the Windows taskbar if the virus pattern file is not
updated after xx days", located under Global Client Settings. It took
me a week of research before I found a random posting on the
sysinternal's forum here:

I believe it was fixed in a recent update, but we haven't re-enabled the
option.

Subject: Trend Antivirus

I'm using Trend AV and discovered a issue that may be affecting others.

I have Trend set to scan ONLY the local drives, but it was scanning one
of
my network shares. The share was the "Home" folder set up in the user
profile.=20

This resulted in a lot of network "chatter". I removed the home folder
share and it stopped. My workaround is to use folder redirection, but I
did want to be able to use home folder in a few cases.=20

Has anyone had similar experiences?=20
