Re: Flip + Re: Social Bookmarking + ISEnet groups

Marty,
I've also had positive experiences with the Flip, and think it's a great ch=
oice. I did find that in order to import to Movie-Maker, I had to install t=
he Flip software on the computer I was using MovieMaker on, in order for th=
e correct codec to be there. In other words, I was not able to film with th=
e Flip and then use the Flip AVI files on a different computer that did not=
have the Flip software installed. I wish I understood more about codecs. I=
t would be simpler if we could just push that codec out to all computers, r=
ather than installing the Flip software. My Flip is about 2 years old, so p=
erhaps this problem no longer exists with the newer models.

Ali,
I'd agree with others that Diigo is a cut above Delicious. I and some other=
s outlined those benefits on this wiki article: http://schoolcomputing.wiki=
a.com/wiki/Why_We_Like_Diigo. I have the diigo toolbar installed on all the=
computers I use. In the Chrome web browser, the "toolbar" is a bookmarklet=
. The subscribable groups on Diigo are a great feature.=20

All,
A recent addition the the ISEnet navigation has been to create a list of th=
e k-8 grade level groups and k-12 subject areas. I'd love to see teachers =
across our schools participate in these grade-level and subject-specific gr=
oups to dip their toes into the power of Personal Learning Networks:=20
