Tech Conference For Teachers By Teachers

Hi,

I know that many may be on vacation but hoped you might send this out to your faculty when they return in August. We are offering a 10% discount to schools who register for both days of the conference before August 1st.

During these tough budget times, we really need everyone's help in getting the word out about this tech conference and hope we will have the support of your teachers, administrators, and tech directors in schools nearby.

Please feel free to download and forward the .pdf version of the brochure to any educator who might be interested in attending (see url below). If you would prefer, I'd be happy to snail mail you our printed brochures, just let me know (off list-serv)
how many you'd like.

Creative Pursuits: Integrating Technology into 21st. Century Classrooms
Are you interested in exploring creative ways to integrate technology into your daily classroom lessons? Join us on Oct. 8th and 9th for a two-day, interactive technology conference designed specifically for you - a pre-school through secondary school
educator!

Many Langley workshops are led, not by instructional technologists, but by experienced classroom teachers who allow workshop attendees to actively participate in live tech-integrated lessons. Workshop topics cover a wide range of innovative technologies
such as pre-school robotics, hands-on videoconferencing strategies, personalized assessment systems, and electronic book readers like the Kindle DX. Each day of the conference kicks off with a keynote address from a leading technology expert, including
Don McNamee, ICT service manager for Kristin School in Auckland, New Zealand. Through a live videoconference, Mr. McNamee will share how new television tools such as Slingbox and Livestation can be put to good educational use and change the media
landscape, profoundly affecting the way our students see and understand the world around them. Come visit Langley School teachers and immerse yourself in a series of hands-on workshops that will engage your students and improve learning!
