SIS Survey Results

I've had a few requests for the results of the SIS survey sent out a few
days ago. I even have an international colleague in Budapest (50 miles
north of the spill) who is also interested in an SIS system for their
American School.

I've ordered the systems below from best to worst based on submissions
from 5 very helpful respondents. I've also included the comments from
those who did so.

1)Veracross (5 out of 5 ranked it highest)
2)PCR Educator (2 out of 5 ranked it second)
3)Blackbaud (tied with Senior Systems in ranking)
3)Senior Systems (tied with Blackbaud in ranking)

2. What conditions influenced your rating?

"Blackbaud is incredibly expensive, support does not blur into training
and they will not assist in any matter that is how to. Blackbaud does
not interface well or at all with other systems. PCR is coding by the
seat of your pants. I had their software for five+ years and was a
defacto beta tester. I have never seen their stuff be ready,
documentation is weak, support is there and always says yes.
Unfortunately, support is needed all too often. Senior Systems has not
been used by me. Veracross is the new system we put in place and works
very well on all fronts. Support is very good and they continually
update and improve using a very well thought out product evolution
model."

"We did over a year of research, and visited the headquarters for a day
of Senior Systems, PCR and Veracross. We went with Veracross because of
the endorsements of their customers, the customization possible, and the
web-native benefits of the system. It's not the cheapest system, but we
found that it had the best support model."

"I have been in touch with several school in Europe and North America
that are using Veracross and PCR Educator. At this point I would rate
them 1 and 2 respectively."

"We did a very thorough Request for Proposals and rated the companies
from those Proposals."
