Re: Cyberbullying resources

Just like any other topic that needs to be addressed in the classroom we
need to "teach" using hands on projects and stop thinking that
"lectures" are enough.

Bullying is not a new concept, but it has embraced the internet just
like everything else and has evolved into what we now know as "cyber"
bullying.

I'm a geek & teacher at a private school and wanted a safe environment
for our younger students in which to teach this topic as well as other
social networking topics like identity theft, predators, etc. so I built
one.

Specifically for cyberbullying & predator topics I've developed
curriculum that uses the site to teach making friends, blocking friends,
removing friends, why this might be necessary, the possible need for
getting adults/authorities involved, and some parallels between online
cyberbullies and real world bullies.

Check out the due diligence driving our educational technology website
at https://rzonz.com/FYI where the second video elaborates on other uses
for the site in addition to the internet safety aspects.

I've also posted videos on various subjects: https://rzonz.com/Video

It's not free, but I'm a teacher just like you and believe strongly this
should be in the hands of students!=20

So talk to me offline and I'll share my costs with you and get you up
and running.

Subject: Cyberbullying resources

Hello Listers,
A colleague has asked for suggestions for resources related to
cyberbullying in connection with middle and high school age students.
Background info, curricula, suggestions for parents, prevention
programs, etc. are all of interest. If you know of material you think is
worthwhile, please pass it along.

Thank you.
James Lerman
