I highly recommend doing without bells! I'm retiring after 18 years at
Viewpoint School as Associate Head for Academic Affairs. When I came to
Viewpoint, there were no bells. I wondered, how does this school work? Now I
know -- we have a radio clock in every room, every one knows our
complicated, 6 day rotation with Upper and Middle School minor variations, and we run
wonderfully without any bells at all! Very nice to teach in a place where
one's last sentence or two are not cut off by a clanging bell! Try it for
a year!

All best wishes to you all -- I've enjoyed your company these past years.
Heather Blair from The Harker School is stepping into the technical parts
of my shoes and more, Paul Rosenbaum the teacher-evaluation and academic
leadership parts. Viewpoint School is in great hands!

PS -- please send sign-off insturctions. I'm off to study music and have
more time for playing my flute, seeing my grandchildren, and traveling +
