POSITION: ACADEMIC TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR=20

REPORTS TO: Director of Technology=20

POSITION SUMMARY:=20
Hamden Hall Country Day School (Hamden, CT) is seeking a high energy
candidate for the position of Academic Technology Coordinator. This
candidate must demonstrate the ability to promote educational technology
through classroom instruction and faculty/ staff professional development.
The successful candidate will have an ability to generate and support the
school-wide technology vision outlined in the school's Academic Technolog=
y
Plan. This individual reports to and is evaluated by the Director of
Technology but will also work closely with the Director of Lower School.=20

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:=20
=95 Develop, implement, assess, and follow up with continuous improvement=
s
in integrating technology into the curriculum.=20
=95 Support Lower School teachers, as needed, during their weekly compute=
r
lab time.=20
=95 Support Middle/ Upper School teachers, as needed, during reserved lab
time.=20
=95 Support teachers in embedding the technology as part of their core
curricula through 20 minute "tech bytes".=20
=95 Provide written instructions for common technical tasks.=20
=95 Develop and implement a formal community wide internet education
program.=20
=95 Manage the progress of Lower and Middle School student keyboarding
skills.=20
=95 Seek out and regularly inform teachers of appropriate professional
development opportunities.=20
=95 Assist in the Lower School grade reporting process.=20
=95 Continually seek, disseminate and implement new technologies and meth=
ods
for teaching and learning.=20
=95 Use current research in collaboration and technology to guide decisio=
ns.=20
=95 Make and support technology-related purchasing recommendations during
the budget cycle based on teacher needs and assist teachers with their
technology-related budget requests.=20
=95 Oversee and coordinate all academic technology systems, services, and
labs and document policies and procedures.=20
=95 Actively participate as member of the Technology Department.=20
=95 Ability to use collaborative applications such as Twitter, Nings, wik=
is,
blogs.=20
=95 Serve on the school's Technology Committee.=20
=95 Other duties as assigned.=20
=95 And... most importantly, spread general good cheer and a positive
attitude!

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: This position requires an
individual with excellent communication and organizational skills; has a
proven ability to promote a positive and collaborative working
environment; is reliable, energetic, patient and positive; has a minimum
of 3 years using current and emerging technologies to support learning an=
d
a minimum of 3 years classroom teaching experience. Masters degree in
Educational Technology or related field is preferred.=20
