Summercore in FLORIDA: 7 reasons to come ;-)

7 reasons to come to Summercore in FLORIDA the week of July 27-31?
See http://www.summercore.com for more info or to sign up!
Yes the 7 reasons spell FLORIDA. What a coincidence ;-) Steve

F is for FLEXIBLE
Summercore is a 5 day computer workshop for novices and experienced
computer users. We split up into JV and Varsity and pride ourselves in
being flexible to help empower each person to learn as much as possible.

L is for LEARNING
Yes, that is what you will do for 5 days of Summercore. Non-stop and you
will love it!
Consider this quote from one Florida teacher used with permission of
course.

"I have been to various and sundry kinds of training, both technology and
other. This is far and away the VERY BEST training session I have
attended. It is obvious that Steve and Lynne are passionate about this
work. It is also obvious that the pace and content of the week has been
fine-tuned to a considerable degree. While it is a large amount of content
to cover, we really did it in a way that has engaged my interest and
allowed me to actually learn how to do some things I had never done
before. The hands-on emphasis makes the lessons sink in and come alive."
-- Bert Harrell, Theology Dept Chair & English Faculty, Episcopal High
School, Jacksonville FL:

O is for ORIGINAL which is our approach. You will not find another
computer workshop like Summercore.

R is for RSS
Most teachers know very little of this technology which is now a pervasive
part of the Web along with many other Web 2.0 applications. Our schools
need more teachers to learn about how to use Web 2.0 well!

I is for INSPIRING
We have been running Summercore for 25 years. Our singular goal is to
inspire, excite and intrigue teachers to get involve with technology and
become pioneers in using it well.

D is DEL.ICIO.US
Most teachers know very little of why this wonderful Web 2.0 site can help
you and your students organize Web sites. Lynne Schalman's DELICIOUS Web
site at http://delicious.com/schalman has been described by one computer
coordinator as the absolute best resource for finding useful educational
Web sites.

A is for ADMINISTRATORS
Yes, Summercore is for you too. Not only does a fish rot from the head but
a river flows from the head. Administrators need to know more about
technology issues and skills in order to lead.
