Re: Photo editing for publications

If price is an issue, CS3 can get expensive, you could also do this
with Gimp and Scribus. We do this both are cross platform (Mac,
Windows, Linux) free and very able to do the work. We send the
printer, in our case a local company, the PDF from Scribus.
