Re: headphones/mic for podcasting

I also bought a couple of the Plantronics model of headphones. This one
has the mini jack for the mic and the other for the audio out.

I'm not sure why but it only works on the Mac with an adaptor that
converts the mini-pin connections to USB. I think the sound input on Macs
now is really a "line in" requiring a powered mic, not one drawing its
power from the computer. USB or maybe Bluetooth seems to be the way to go
on the Mac for external microphones.
