Re: Web SiteDesign/Management

What I mean is when schools contract with a company to develop, host
and control your website. This sounds like a great idea but in fact is
not. What ends up happening is that you end up not owning your own
data and are at the mercy of who ever is running your site for you.

Now I'm not saying you need to run a server farm there are plenty of
co-hosting companies out there but I am saying is you need to have
root access to that server. The material on it need to be yours. You
need to know where physically the server is located and perhaps even
own it so when trouble comes you could if need go and take it with you.
