Holton-Arms School invites applications for the position of Help Desk
Technician. Holton-Arms, founded in 1901, is an independent college
preparatory girls school with 665 students in grade 3 through 12,
located on a 57-acre campus in Bethesda, MD, a suburb of Washington, DC.
The school is known for its commitment to academic excellence and for
its leadership in providing opportunities for young women in athletics
and the fine and performing arts. We are a diverse community of
students, faculty, and staff reflecting the population of the
metropolitan Washington, DC area. =20

The Help Desk Technician will have responsibility for helping to
support, maintain, and inventory campus technology systems. The
successful candidate will work closely with students, faculty, and staff
to handle a broad range of equipment including installation and
troubleshooting and repair of hardware, software, and data
communications equipment. The technician will work closely with another
Help Desk Technician, who primarily works with the student and faculty
laptop program. Additionally, he or she will work with the Academic
Technology Coordinator and the outsourced Network Administration Team.
The Help Desk Technician will report to the Director of Technology.

The successful candidate will have the following interpersonal skills
and certifications:

* Be a strong oral and written communicator and be highly
organized
* Have a strong commitment to customer service and maintain
professionalism at all times
* Have the ability to address technology issues effectively and
see issues through to resolution
* Work well with children
* Bring a energetic and positive approach to work on a daily basis
and work well with a small team
* Be able to consistently meet deadlines, organize, multi-task,
and prioritize work tasks

* Be MCDST certification preferred
* Be CompTIA A+ certification preferred
* Have advanced proficiency in MS Office program
* Have 1-2 years experience in technical support or technical
consulting
* Have the ability to learn quickly and adapt to an expanding and
changing products, tools, and needs

The successful candidate will have the following duties assigned:=20

* Troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate all hardware, software,
phone, a/v, and operating system problems=20
* Support constituents in their use of general software
applications and hardware issues
* Install, configure, maintain, repair and upgrade computer
software, hardware, and peripherals
* Respond to telephone calls, emails, and in-person requests for
technical support=20
* Maintain timely and accurate records of support issues
* Delegate and escalate issues to appropriate tech department
colleagues=20
* Help maintain timely and accurate inventory records for all
technology equipment and software using spreadsheets and inventory
management system=20
* Provide AV support to school functions as needed=20
* Unpack, configure, and inventory new computer equipment=20
* Perform preventive maintenance on computer systems, printers,
and equipment as needed=20
* Arrange for equipment repair as needed=20
* Participate in end-user events, as appropriate, e.g. faculty,
student, parent training sessions
* Other duties as assigned=20
