Re: Part-time teachers and use of school laptops?

I'll second Karen,

This seems to happen more in foreign language classes than anywhere else.
For a couple of years, part-timers did not get laptops, but we had some we
would lend out. They never asked, never came to the professional
development offered with technology and quite quickly fell behind the rest
of the department. This created a situation that caused comparisons to be
drawn by parents and students that quickly became unhealthy. So now, if
you are expected to teach a classroom of students who all have laptops,
you are issued a laptop.

of doing new things, not simply of repeating what other generations have
done.
