An Environmental Site Created by Children, for Children

Three children (ages 7, 8,and 10) of a friend chose Earth Day to launch a
site, EarthsaversClubforKids. It's pretty cool, though bare-bones at the
moment. But the promise is there, particularly when other children begin to
contribute to it. I love the idea that it's young kinds who are driving
this... But they can say it so much better than I can, and their email is
below. (BTW - their mom is fine with them doing this work and revealing
their names to the world.)

I am trying to help the kids get broad exposure to their project, so forgiv=
e
the cross-posting...

Dear Fellow Earth Savers,

It=E2=80=99s us, Kylie, Devon, and Piper Holland! We are writing to announc=
e that in
honor of Earth Day, we are launching the Earth Saver=E2=80=99s Club For Kid=
s. We
started the Earth Saver=E2=80=99s Club for Kids several years ago in our ho=
use but
then we decided to make a website so kids around the world could join the
club too. www.earthsaversclubforkids.com or www.esc4k.com. We founded the
club for four reasons:

1. First, even though we are YOUNG, we knew we needed to be leaders in
saving the earth for our future.
2. We thought that the Earth Saver's Club for Kids would give other young
people the help they need to not just learn about saving the earth but to
actually DO something to make a difference.
3. Since we all share the same earth, we wanted our club to be GLOBAL, open
to ALL kids around the world, so please forward this email to every friend
you have anywhere in the world (you can read the pledge in any language on
our website using the Google translator).
4. We know that the time is NOW, not tomorrow, not next week, but Now for
kids to start helping to save the earth.

So the Earth Saver=E2=80=99s Club for Kids is for kids to pitch in to help =
save our
planet. On our website there are several places to go. You can find tips t=
o
save the earth, projects you can do with friends or family, links to
organizations saving the earth, fun games to play and videos from fellow
Earth Saver=E2=80=99s Club members. You can also read our weekly blog and =
send us
your questions or comments.

The club is also a place for you to share your own art, stories, poetry,
photographs and videos about ways to save the earth.

You can also give us ideas for tips and projects you think are great or sen=
d
us links to other websites you think Earth Saver=E2=80=99s Club members wil=
l like.

Most important of all, now that the site is up, you can become a member jus=
t
by making your very own pledge to save the earth!

We have had lots of fun designing the website, coming up with ideas, drawin=
g
the pictures and shooting some videos to get the website started. We reall=
y
hope you enjoy it! Please help us spread the word by telling every kid you
know, your friends, classmates, neighbors, family members, anyone you meet,
to join! The more kids who become members, the more people we have working
together to save the earth!

Happy Earth Day! Love, Kylie, Devon and Piper
