creative play-system along with a traditional circuit playground
(slides, monkey-bars, climbers) This installation has been incredibly
successful. We have tailored the design for 2nd-5th grade but I am sure
that the company (LandScape Structures) could help you design a
playground for JK-2. We actually went through a modified RFP process -
ended up with 3 vendors with 3 concepts and selected Landscape
Structure. The design team included general studies faculty, PE
faculty, faculty with recess duty, students, parents and a member of our
maintenance staff. =20
I was very impressed with Site Specialists/LandScape Structures level of
customer service. The installation was smooth, on time and well
managed. Our students LOVE the EVOS system - it is a pirate ship,
elephant, castle, apartment building - it is designed as a social play
system which is very different from the circuit structure (which we also
installed). Please see the link below for a press release from our local
paper.=20

Subject: Playground design
Dear Colleagues,
=20
We are designing a new facility and a new playground for our JK- grade 2
children.
I am wondering whether anyone has had experience in designing a creative
playground environment that doesn't just use the modular equipment
manufactured by the major companies.
Is anyone aware of any literature in this area?
Best wishes,

Duncan
