For the past 12 years. I have worked as an administrator and/or learning
specialist in independent schools. Currently, I am the Director of
Academic Support at Noble and Greenough School in Massachusetts. I first
signed on to this listserv about 10 years ago, when I was starting up the
Center for Academic Support at Worcester Academy. I was so grateful then
for the feedback I received from others wrestling with similar questions.
Providing academic support and coordinating accommodations for students
with learning differences in independent schools is an extraordinary
challenge. There are many wonderful models out there, and just as many
schools that are struggling to assess policy and practice. After many
school visits and emails, and even more questions, I am about to dig even
deeper. I have just begun the long journey of doctoral study to explore
learning differences in independent schools. I am delighted to rediscover
this forum and look forward to ongoing dialogue with all!
Many thanks!
