Data backup plan

Do any of you have a write data backup plan / policy you would be willing to share? I need to write one (basically, what the school's policy is in regard to backing up data) and obviously would like to get your input first. Our lawyer advised me to do
this in case we were ever in litigation that requested electronic data. Thanks!
