See if your firewall supports multiple WAN connections and look into a broa=
dband service like cable or FiOS. We have dual T-1s and a Comcast Business=
Cable account. The two T-1s carry critical traffic (mostly email) and voi=
ce, while the Comcast carries everything else. They fail-over to each othe=
r for outbound traffic. At 20Mb down for $170, it's a pretty economical so=
lution. We found that as web-based multimedia usage around campus increase=
d, all our efforts to control bandwidth failed miserably because the usage =
was legitimate. While I'm not typically one to endorse the "throw money at=
it" solution, in this case it's pretty much a no brainer if you can do it.
