Re: ISED on a Blog? Your thoughts?

I'd like to compliment Peter on his polite responses to this list while
being under intense scrutiny in this very public forum. It is a very
challenging spot to be in, especially in an online forum, and it
behooves us all to continue to assume good intentions all around as we
discuss all the implications. I'd also thank our list managers for their
continued moderation of this list and providing such a great tool for
connecting us.

I was pleased to be able to subscribe to an RSS feed for ISED-L which
Peter had created and was surprised to learn this morning from Tom that
there was already an RSS feed available.

To me, the unmasking of email addresses is problematic. I appreciate how
the list adopted a CC license last year because the reposting of content
on the School Computing wiki creates added value when it is synthesized
and organized and added to over time. Anytime I repost content I do not
include email addresses precisely because they are masked on the ISED-L
archive site.=20

What I take away from this discussion is the importance of public
discussion and a period of review prior to implementing changes to a
group's operating procedures.

Enjoying the community and the discussion,
Demetri

Ps. Again, a plea to quote sparingly- when you reply to a message delete
most of the original... From the list guidelines: "Clip just enough to
indicate what you are responding to. Don't quote whole messages"

makes it much easier to read :)
