Currently it is just on a Windows 2003 VM without much allocated to it
(768MB RAM, 1CPU - 3.33GHz Xeon).
We'll keep an eye on performance, but I don't anticipate doing much beyond
giving it more memory and attaching some cheap hard drive space...probably
put it on a host computer with a ton of RAIDed SATA drive space. The nice
thing about making it a VM is that we can easily add more resources or even
move it to a different host server with more juice if we run into
performance issues.
One thing that it lacks which I should have mentioned is that ability to tag
content. I forgot to mention this because this isn't currently an issue for
us given that we initially plan to use it to serve videos, and don't have so
many that tagging will be important. However, if it takes off and usage
expands to other things, then tagging will be very important. Given that it
is open source, if this becomes an issue I'm confident we'll either built
this ability in ourselves, or more likely, pay to have it added. Roger
Martin (the developer) seems very amenable to adding functionality for a
reasonable hourly rate and even if he doesn't have time, ASP/C# developers
are easy to find.
