wiki fork

Dear Colleagues,

We've been using the school computing wiki for years to document many of th=
e topics that get shared on this list-serve. In the past year the web host =
of that site (wikia) started laying a lot of advertising over the wiki page=
s, so I've taken an XML copy of the content and moved it to my own ad-free =
host at http://www.4dmo.com/w. I hope you will continue to use and add to =
this wiki at this new address. If anyone has other ideas (for a better host=
ing environment) to continue our wiki work in an ad-free environment, I'm a=
ll ears.

We've also been using the ISEnet ning to enrich and extend the sharing of t=
his community. If you haven't been by for awhile, I hope you'll click over =
and check out the recent updates: http://ISEnet.ning.com. Thanks to Rye Cou=
ntry Day School digital design students we have a great new look and feel! =
The site continues to accrue visitors and participants. The tweet-ups, grou=
ps, dicussions, video collections, shared bookmarks, and blogs have been fu=
n to watch grow. I also want to publicly thank the other admins of this sit=
e http://isenet.ning.com/page/isenet-administrators, and invite further par=
ticipation by those with interest in growing this online community. My sens=
e is that we are approaching a tipping point of more teachers making use of=
online communities in the way those of us who are tech-inclined already do=
. If anyone has ideas for improving our online communities I would be very =
interested to hear them.

Thanks,
Demetri
