Dear All,

The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools is accepting applications =20
for the position of Library Technology Coordinator (LTC).

The LTC is responsible for providing first-line technical support for =20
library computers (all Mac), servers, and peripheral devices.

The LTC is also responsible for facilitating the libraries' growth as =20
an instructional technology resource for teachers and students; s/he =20
will partner with librarians to create and implement strategies for =20
teachers to learn and use technology integration skills in content =20
areas, and expand the range of opportunities available for students to =20
acquire the judgment and skills needed to use technology effectively =20
for research, self-expression, and other academic pursuits.

The LTC is one of 9 full-time members of Information Systems Group, a =20
close-knit team who values technical expertise, strong interpersonal =20
skills, and a shared desire for mutual accountability in serving the =20
school with excellence.

This is a twelve-month staff position, not a faculty position, and is =20
jointly supervised by me and the Library Chair(s). Summer duties will =20
vary, but will include working closely with me to plan and implement =20
summer technology workshops for teachers and leading ad hoc projects =20
in collaboration with senior IT staff. Anticipated start date is =20
7/19/10. Salaries are competitive and a generous benefit package is =20
offered, including a 50% tuition remission for children of staff =20
employees accepted to the Schools.

The Laboratory Schools is owned and operated by the University of =20
Chicago and serves 1,770 PreK-12 students and their families. Salary =20
and benefits are competitive. The Schools is also planning the largest =20
expansion and renovation in its history in the next few years. It is =20
an exciting time to be here!
