Library Technology Coordinator sought (please excuse cross-postings)

Dear All,

The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools is accepting applications
for the position of Library Technology Coordinator (LTC).

The LTC is responsible for providing first-line technical support for
library computers (all Mac), servers, and peripheral devices.

The LTC is also responsible for facilitating the libraries' growth as
an instructional technology resource for teachers and students; s/he
will partner with librarians to create and implement strategies for
teachers to learn and use technology integration skills in content
areas, and expand the range of opportunities available for students to
acquire the judgment and skills needed to use technology effectively
for research, self-expression, and other academic pursuits.

The LTC is one of 9 full-time members of Information Systems Group, a
close-knit team who values technical expertise, strong interpersonal
skills, and a shared desire for mutual accountability in serving the
school with excellence.

This is a twelve-month staff position, not a faculty position, and is
jointly supervised by me and the Library Chair(s). Summer duties will
vary, but will include working closely with me to plan and implement
summer technology workshops for teachers and leading ad hoc projects
in collaboration with senior IT staff. Anticipated start date is
7/19/10. Salaries are competitive and a generous benefit package is
offered, including a 50% tuition remission for children of staff
employees accepted to the Schools.

The Laboratory Schools is owned and operated by the University of
Chicago and serves 1,770 PreK-12 students and their families. Salary
and benefits are competitive. The Schools is also planning the largest
expansion and renovation in its history in the next few years. It is
an exciting time to be here!

if you find the portal impersonal; I can assure you that Lab is a
lively, vibrant place bristling with energy, curiosity, and a passion
for inquiry.
