Re: Cell-Phone Signal Amplifiers

We are a boarding school and I have personally configured and installed a
Sprint femtocell (a mini cell tower) for a faculty member who lives on
campus. Worked great. About the size of a small wireless access point.
Connected to Internet with good sound quality. Sprint provided the
femtocell for free because reception was poor in this area. They otherwise
charge for this service.

Not exactly a cell phone signal amplifier, but the end result is the same.

This is completely out of the blue, but you might see if your provider woul=
d
give you a femtocell in exchange for promoting them at the school. Might
require a letter to the marketing department rather than customer service.

Personally, I'm surprised carriers aren't giving these things away.
