Re: Typing software recommendations?

We us MasterKey typing program in our computer lab. It is from a =
company called MacinMind (www.macinmind.com) and has both Mac and PC =
formats. It is extremely reasonable in price - $12 a computer if you =
have over 20 computers. You purchase the license, and then the company =
sends you a product key and password to download the software to your =
computers. Updates are free. The program stores a history of students =
and it allows teachers to set up classes. The students enjoy using it, =
which makes it an even better deal. There is a game included called =
Paratyper that you can enable or disable in the program.

You might try out the new Type to Learn 4 Network edition. =20

The application itself is well done. We purchased the web version which =
went through several "mandatory" updates last year and caused major =
issues, but I am hoping it will work better this year. (TTL4 web =
version is not really a web-based application. The application runs on =
the computer and the data is stored online. I think they actually =
released the product about six months to early. It seems much more =
stable now, although they put out another "mandatory update" the week =
school started, after just about every school had completed their =
computer imaging for the summer.)

Has anyone used any typing software besides Mavis Beacon that you would =
recommend for middle schoolers? We use PC's and have spent countless =
hours trying to get the network version to play nicely with the MS =
computer lab, all to no avail.

Thanks in advance,
