Haven't played around w/DansGuardian enough to answer your question but
have you looked at opendns? =20

It's great for a second defense and for parents, no install necessary
except for maybe a dynamic dns client for home users. It lets you block
certain categories, get network stats, etc. Also if nothing else a
great set of dns servers.
