MVS had been using FileMaker Pro, with good success and relative ease for =
7 years. This year we switched to Senior Systems, which is web based and =
unites all school data bases, including: admissions, business office, =
alumni, advancement, and all academic processes, including parent web =
access to comments and grades, which they log-onto via a portal called My =
Backpack. =20
For the most part the transition has been smooth, especially when looking =
at the future benefits of unifying many programs/processes, which =
previously had caused confusion due to unnecessary redundancy and =
duplication. =20
We are making some adjustments and have found the tech support to be =
generally reliable and responsive.

We are in the process of re-thinking how we write and send comments to
parents. I am familiar with File Maker Pro but am wondering if schools
are using other programs that they find helpful. At present, we use
Microsoft Word -- and this places a lot of stress on our front office.=20
Ideally, we would like a computer program that teachers can work on at
home as well as at school -- and one that gives us a lot of flexibility
over the look of the template. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
