Re: Working Hours for Tech/Network Support

Great subject! The answer is that they want us available when they need
us :)

We've played with staggered times but as a boarding school there is
always someone working and someone always needs support even when they
are on the road.

As Joes said, the Blackberry is always on and VNC and VPN's are a
lifesaver. =20

On a serious note, I have worked hard at identifying the Power Users on
campus and empowering them to help their colleagues with the day to day
minor tech issues. They reward is nice equipment, public recognition,
and maybe a little favoritism from the tech department.....

Subject: Working Hours for Tech/Network Support

What hours do you have your school tech/network support staff come in =20
and leave? We are seeing a growing need for people to be in earlier =20
and stay later. How are you handling the issue?

We've looked at staggering the hours of the staff as one options, but =20
it doesn't always put the right people in the building(s).

Thanks!
